Sherridon Homes Project 4

For this project, Bondi 41, Sherridon Homes designed and built a spacious four-bedroom home on a compact allotment. Designed to fit a 12.5m frontage, it is built from boundary-to-boundary at the front to allow for extra width in the ground floor lounge area and an expansive feel.

With four bedrooms, a study and four unique living zones, this home provides ample space for a growing family, with an open-plan living zone and an alfresco area to the rear. At the front of the home, a wonderful sunken lounge provides an intimate entertainment zone for guests to enjoy, creating a visually opulent space.

The stunning façade, which pairs dark timber with brick and render, creates a standout feature alongside the fullheight glazing to highlight the scope of the ground floor. This scale is further highlighted by the 172mm step down into the lounge area.

To add to the sense of space within the home, bedrooms are significantly larger than standard, the study is oversized and filled with natural light and the central rumpus room provides an activity zone for children.

The mix of open-plan and zoned entertaining areas creates the perfect opportunity for a family to entertain guests. Seamless doors leading to the alfresco and courtyard areas make the ground floor interact with the outdoor zones in a way few homes can boast. A stunning staircase also overlooks the courtyard area to create a unique feature within the home.

Ideal for catering to large groups of guests, the oversized island bench in the open-plan kitchen provides a central congregation point. This communal space, paired with secluded areas such as the study and bedrooms, creates the perfect balance so that a family has the freedom to play, grow and entertain, but also to find privacy when needed.
