Similarly, the use of LPG gas for stovetop cooking and the hot water system offset the need for electrical production.

The pitch of the roof was carefully considered to allow for additional heating and cooling factors, while the eaves are similarly crucial to the home’s passive solar design. The clever positioning of the alfresco area to the west of the home provides added protection from the elements without detracting from the visual concepts of the build.

A substantial roof catchment area, combined with the addition of twin 32,000L water tanks, provides the home with a water supply that’s more than adequate for domestic needs, while the treatment plant ensures the water is safe for use.
