Revolutionaries of Housing

Jul 21, 2023 | Industry News, Uncategorized

Resilience Design and Build is making history with the acquisition of its recent patent for the OriQube. The OriQube is a design for a folding, portable home, which can be set up and ready to occupy in just one day. The home uses its own hydraulic system to unfold and can be set up in practically any space. Though it can be connected to the grid and to water systems, the home also has the functionality to be self-sustaining. Solar panels on the roof provide more than enough power to work the home, and potable water bladders under the home can be used for the plumbing. The homes are pre-fitted with any appliances – a toilet, bed and more – allowing the owner to inhabit as soon as the home is set up. These homes were designed as a response to the effects of COVID-19 and the Australian bushfires, where those who lost their homes were displaced for long periods while rebuilds took place or until they could find somewhere new. The OriQube’s quick and efficient set up provides immediate refuge in a comforting and liveable space. The team also believes the product will have a myriad of benefits outside of disaster relief and will even be suited for long-term living for those who are looking to buy a home for much greater value than available on the market today.
