Truestyle Constructions Project 1

Michael Chadd of Truestyle Constructions worked with designer Drew Trenham of Trenergy to execute this impressive home renovation and extension, which features a split-level open-plan layout overlooking a beautiful in-ground pool and alfesco entertaining area.

The brief for this build was to take a modern spin on this traditionally built McKinnon home, bringing it into the present while still maintaining some of the period-style features. The result is a stylish fusion of materials showcased throughout the dwelling, including the renovated original section and the new extension.

This extension houses the main living area with a custom-made kitchen, plus a dining and lounge room. Matte black overhead cabinetry contrasts with the sleek white benches and gorgeous recycled red brick feature wall, while the raked ceiling with V-groove panelling complements the clean-lines design. Loads of natural light fill the space through the wide aluminium windows and sliding doors, which lead out to the alfresco and luxurious tiled concrete pool.

Other parts of the home have been refreshed to match the level of quality in the extension, including the bathroom. Here, a skylight helps illuminate the clean, white floor-to-ceiling tiled walls, freestanding bathtub and generous walk-in shower. The floating timber vanity adds a touch of warmth and enhances the sophistication in this polished room.
