Technik Construction Project 3
Technik Construction completely designed, built and styled the interior and external terraces of this stunning two-storey penthouse apartment. It includes unique character and a wealth of luxury features, boasting an enviable Maribyrnong location overlooking Jack’s Magazine and the Maribyrnong River with full city views that extend to the beautiful Mount Dandenong in the distance.
After commencing works on the apartment as a vacant shell, Technik Construction went to work implementing its signature quality style throughout each room. There’s no such thing as ‘just a wall’ in this apartment; each wall showcases some kind of feature, from panelling to opulent tiles. As an extra point of interest, parts of the ceiling are clad with warm recycled timber, particularly in the kitchen and living area. This beautiful material makes an appearance in the flooring and vanity fronts too, tying the entire home’s design together.
To contrast the timber, external cement sheet cladding and polished render in the interior offer a cooler, contemporary aesthetic, breaking away from traditional construction methods. This use of such a smooth, sleek material complements the apartment’s overall minimalist look, which is further achieved through the exclusion of skirtings and architraves, and the seamless hidden bedroom doors within the wall panelling.
Technik Construction has included many home luxuries to boost the functionality and appeal of this outstanding apartment. Between the spa bath with an in-built sound system, the large gas fireplace in the main living room, the secret bookshelf door that opens up into a wine cellar and powder room, and the outdoor two-person sauna with gorgeous city views, the homeowners have been provided with plenty of ways to indulge day to day.
