Technik Construction Project 2

This impressive restoration of a beautiful Federation home was executed by Technik Construction. Showcasing intricate detail that complements both the original heritage features and the modern world, this distinguished dwelling is full of character, sure to impress anyone who steps through the stunning leadlight front door.

True to its speciality, Technik Construction has done a fantastic job of preserving the front façade during the restoration, giving the Federation-style exterior a facelift without diminishing its charm. A stonework pathway works its way through a perfectly landscaped garden to the return verandah. Entering the home, the front bedroom has a deep window seat and a gloriously tiled fireplace, which gently contrasts with the streamlined wardrobe. Across the other side is a formal living area replete with Swedish Borastapeter wallpaper – a unique touch that draws the eye.

Natural light from the balcony fills the main bedroom, which houses a long walk-in wardrobe and an opulent en suite. Here, a black-and-white colour scheme is illuminated by the full-length shower window. His-and-hers vessel sinks add class and practicality.

While the front of the home accommodates the more heritage-style bedrooms, the back is an awe-inspiring display of contemporary style. Through banded glass doors the new extension can be accessed. This starts with a chic study and powder room, plus a central courtyard with large windows to let in light for an airy, open feel.

At the rear of the home is the open-plan living area. The kitchen makes a bold statement with a rounded black granite island benchtop, smooth, handle-less cabinetry and a butler’s pantry tucked around the corner, which includes a fabulous bar cabinet. Across from the kitchen and dining area is the lavish lounge room; where Technik Construction has incorporated a gorgeous, exposed brick wall behind the Cheminees Philippe fireplace, adding warmth and softness.

The entire back wall of the living area consists of glass sliding doors that lead out to the alfresco and outdoor kitchen. Beyond this space is a grassy terrace and generous-sized pool that separate the main house from the two-level studio. The studio is what makes this home truly one of a kind, offering a kitchenette, cosy living space and loft-style bed. Adjacent to the studio is a fully detached home office – perfect for getting work done in peace and quiet.
