Smith & Smith Kitchens Project 18
Embodying European elegance, this exquisite kitchen was designed by Smith & Smith Kitchens to complement the homeowners’ unique, four-storey Mornington Peninsula property. Blending with the timeless and classic style of the build, Smith & Smith Kitchens created a functional haven that boasts clean lines and a smooth, neat look. The company incorporated proud face mounted moulding and handle-less, touch-to-open pantry doors to transform the homeowners’ dream of updating their Italian-inspired home into a reality.
Combining purpose with luxury, the LED strip lighting around the rangehood maximises visibility and functionality while highlighting the opulent materials used in the small space, such as the natural Elba marble splashback.
The range of Kesseböhmer pull-out and hidden drawers optimise storage, while the kitchen’s galley layout ensures everything is at the homeowners’ fingertips without feeling too close to touch. An integrated fridge and dishwasher maintains this chic style, keeping the lines of the kitchen undisturbed while ensuring both appliances are readily accessible in the same room.
Adding to the grandeur of this functional space is the hidden baize-lined cutlery canteen, which creates a safe, elegant storage solution for the homeowners’ silverware. Painted in a Dulux ‘Natural White’, the detailing on the kickboards is emphasised and balanced with the lustrous marble touches.
A cleverly concealed butler’s pantry allows the homeowners to store a range of small and large appliances. A fusion of timber embellishments is showcased in this space, with natural white V-groove lining and dark timber shelving units creating a visual contrast while tying in with the overall aesthetic of the kitchen.
The timber accents also feature in the hot plate alcove and wine rack, both of which accompany the lavish dark stained, herringbone-patterned flooring. It’s these fine details that Smith & Smith Kitchens executed to perfection, ensuring the aesthetic and design of the kitchen was at one with the home, embraced European influences, and infused a modern flair.
