SIMPLISTIC MODERN CONSTRUCTION

In collaboration with Zenibaker Architects and Project Green, Saltvu has created this unconventional yet alluring project in St. Andrews Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. The house is situated amongst the Moonah trees and ti trees, giving it a rural and secluded feel that is ideal for the location. Using natural materials, timbers and concrete, Saltvu Builders has taken pride in being sustainable during this construction. Blackbutt timber windows are recessed into the heated, polished concrete floors, whilst the kitchen strives to incorporate the external surroundings with wooden cabinetry that boasts rural living. Above the custom black concrete benchtops with inbuilt in-situ sink, the servery windows connects the inside to the outdoor deck, allowing easy access for entertainment.

The external cladding is a mixture of Cemintel barestone and Darwin stringybark timber. The bedroom has glass windows overlooking the serene surroundings and a glass door that steps onto the decking, allowing access to the outdoors and bringing the retreat style to life.
