Norton Builders Project 4
Defined by its crisp white exterior, beautifully-landscaped outdoor entertainment area, breathtaking pool and sublime Hamptons-style, this opulent abode designed and constructed by the Norton Builders team fuses functional family living with a taste of pure prestige. With the homeowners after a spacious haven in which they could comfortably entertain, create happy memories in and accommodate for six family members, Norton Builders set to work crafting this open-plan, light-filled dwelling.
Aptly mirroring its beachside location, the home’s impressive façade includes a charming pitched roof, Linea weatherboards, a traditional capped picket front fence and spacious windows to maximise light-flow throughout the home. Awash with natural light and soaring ceilings, the abode’s calming and brilliantly styled interior retains its coastal charm with exposed natural wood floorboards, and an elegant arched-feature French door. Opening out to a generous open-plan living area, the eye is met with an elegant picture window, which includes a custom built-in bench seat encompassing poolside views.
Embodying the relaxed, luxury living essence of the home, quality Satara furniture adorns both the lounge room and kitchen areas, with stunning stools providing a refreshing pop of timber to the home’s light colour scheme. The capacious kitchen includes LED feature pendant lighting, V-groove joinery, white feature tiles, alongside simple storage through under-bench drawers, and spacious cupboards.
Comprising of five comfortable bedrooms, each with its own en suite, alongside two upstairs rumpus rooms, the home makes expansive family living incredibly easy, with plush carpets, and louvre windows making up just some of the admirable design features. Ready and waiting to wash away the day’s rigours, Norton Builders crafted a range of stellar bathrooms within the abode, including a selection of double showers and even a gloss light blue feature wall, conjuring images of the ocean.
Stepping outside through dual stacking sliding doors, the home’s elegant alfresco dining space is a sight to behold, complete with a barbeque, bar fridge, limestone flooring and a ceiling fan to cool on summer nights. An undoubted home highlight, the enviable pool is a treat for the eyes, while the backyard’s inbuilt trampoline is a practical addition to a picturesque garden.
A homage to all things stylish and relaxing, this Norton Builders creation is as practical as it is beautiful, with strategically-placed North-oriented living areas, and extra acoustic insulation to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep for every member of the family.
Established in 1958 by brothers Ron and John Norton, Norton Builders built its first weatherboard home in the beachy streets of Parkdale. From 1985, second-generation builder David Norton took over the business, and to this day, he and his team continue to design and construct some of Melbourne’s most outstanding and aspiring homes. Since its inception, the company has successfully completed more than 1500 awe-inspiring projects, and completes approximately 15-20 of these impressive builds each year.
Servicing Melbourne’s Bayside area and its surrounding suburbs, the Norton Builders team specialises in creating quality classic and contemporary custom-designed homes, including large-scale renovations. Each home created by Norton Builders is able to meet clients’ individual needs and varied requests. The qualified team is heavily involved throughout the entire construction process, and prides itself on cultivating strong relationships with each of its customers, from conception through to completion.
A prime example of such dedication to quality, Norton Builders won the Housing Industry Association’s (HIA) Custom Home Design accolade in the $500,000-$700,000 category, and was also a finalist in 2012, 2014 and 2015 for Custom Home Design $500,000-$700,000, Custom Home up to $500,000 and Custom Home Design $350,000-$500,000 awards respectively. Norton Builders was also a runner up in 2013 for the Townhouse Development $750,000-$1.2 million category.
