ECO ELEGANCE

Designed and executed by J.V DODD BUILDING, the Raymond Street project is a high-end three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence and the first completed build within the Middleton Fields eco-village estate. This eco masterpiece was created as a bespoke design, featuring an architecturally refined façade that meets the estate’s strict guidelines for materials, style and energy efficiency. The client wanted a home that reflects a sense of modern elegance and elevated design integrity. They were also deeply conscious of the surrounding environment and expressed a strong desire for the home to sit harmoniously within the natural Daylesford landscape, drawing inspiration from its earthy tones, textures and serene atmosphere.

To meet the goals of this brief, the project was centred around sustainability and designed to achieve a seven-star energy rating under the previous regulations. The home is fully electric, eliminating the need for gas, and features under-slab hydronic heating paired with polished concrete floors for efficient thermal mass. The use of durable, low-maintenance materials – such as concrete blocks, Eco Timber burnt cladding, and James Hardie Axon – ensures longevity and reduced environmental impact. Large stacker doors and thoughtfully oriented windows maximise natural light and ventilation, reducing reliance on artificial heating and cooling. Every detail was considered to create a comfortable, energy-efficient home that blends seamlessly into its natural surrounds.
