Green Design Homes Project 6
Set on a generous plot of land, this countryside home had a design brief for a Hamptons inspired farmhouse and Green Design Homes most certainly delivered. Embracing muted, natural hues, a large wraparound verandah and James Hardie weatherboard cladding, the home’s striking façade would not look out of place on The Hamptons’ shoreline.
Designed with a family in mind, the home features a large, centralised kitchen, dining, and living space with two distinct areas housing the parents’ retreat and the kids’ zone. Making use of the abundance of natural light, the property is perfectly oriented to capitalise on the sunshine and has been fitted with expansive windows throughout to allow daylight to flood the home.
The commodious free-flowing living space at the heart of the home has utilised an L-shape, which acts as a natural division between the kitchen and living area. While a centrally positioned fireplace keeps the lounge and home warm on crisp, country nights. The kitchen is well positioned on the short side of the L-shape to make use of the full space. Two gorgeous pendant lights and two skylights illuminate the spacious island, equipped with a pull-up bar and double sink, making feeding the family a breeze. Promoting excellent indoor-outdoor flow, large sliding glass doors open out onto a large alfresco area – perfect for entertaining and soaking in the magnificent surrounding countryside.
