Working in close collaboration with the client and interior designer Maddy from Gecsek Design, the team ensured every design choice aligned perfectly with the client’s vision. A palette of rich textures and high-end finishes define the interior. The striking herringbone timber flooring adds warmth and rhythm underfoot, while micro cement surfaces introduce a sleek, modern edge and natural stone reinforces a sense of enduring luxury. Expansive steel-framed windows and doors blur the line between interior and exterior, allowing natural light to dance across surfaces and enhance the home’s architectural presence.

Attention to detail is the through line of the project. The internal plaster cornices and external parapet mouldings have been carefully crafted to reflect classic design principles while complementing the home’s contemporary aesthetic. Inside, decorative mouldings add layers of texture and visual interest, subtly elevating each room with a sense of craftmanship and design direction. 

Working with the existing structure presented both challenges and opportunities. The Evans Building Group team skilfully integrated the new design within the original framework, achieving a floor plan that suits the client’s lifestyle while representing the home’s old-world heritage. Meeting the new 7-star energy efficiency requirements within an older structure demanded innovative thinking and precision. The result is a structure that expertly balances sustainability and style.
