MODERNISM AND NATURE

Located in the gorgeous Toomuc Valley on the outer fringe of eastern Melbourne, the modern aesthetic of this project is a standout in the quiet valley setting. The client wanted an inventive architectural solution for their unique rural setting, so Drake Design created a home that serves as a contemporary reinterpretation of the country landscape.

With an abundance of spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows, the home is rich with natural light, making it spacious and airy while offering endless views of the blissful valley. The living area in particular captures the adjacent hilltops splendidly, a space that is clean and exemplifies enviable modern living. The home boasts an appealing courtyard that creates a more intimate outdoor space amongst the vast 20-acre property.

Working alongside Kalibar Homes, Drake Design has created a home with personality. The design has integrated polished porcelain concrete floors throughout the home, with a beautiful European Oak ceiling. It features gabled forms, metal cladding and traditional masonry blockwork. Keeping up with the ongoing push for sustainability, it has implanted a 40 panel, 15-kw ground mounted solar system.
