Conceived by Design Unity, this contemporary family dwelling was purposefully designed to improve the work/life balance of the homeowners, while encouraging healthy social interaction. Featuring a soaring cathedral window and an inviting front deck, the home’s show-stopping façade attracts attention and encourages neighbours to stop for a chat. Showcasing a striking geometric pattern, the towering window provides a preview of the spacious interior and the luxurious swimming pool, which is located at the rear of the property. The lower level of the frontage also features slimline Flemish-bond brickwork, which contrasts with the angular charcoal brickwork that follows the roof form.

The sleek and highly functional kitchen features timber cabinetry and a convenient butler’s pantry, which ensures the bench space remains free of clutter. Large glazed windows were installed along the back wall of the home to connect the indoor and outdoor living zones, while flooding the house with natural light. The upper level is integrated into the roof space, which minimises the height of the building and ensures solar gain for the neighbouring homes. Intended as a parents’ retreat, the upper level comprises the main bedroom and a stylish en suite, as well as a dressing area that makes clever use of what might otherwise have been a narrow, underutilised space. Affording considerable savings on commuting costs and travel time, the home office is a key feature of the property that allows the homeowners to spend more time with their family.
