The painted brick façade in Dulux’s ‘Whisper White’ immediately draws attention to the home, and diverts the focus beyond the beautiful large oak tree that sits proudly nearby.

Working under the homeowner’s brief to create a home that will grow alongside their young family, Demardi was able to retain much of the home’s original floor plan, thereby reducing any unnecessary and disruptive structural works. Natural light is paramount throughout the abode, with clever use of an openable skylight and large window spaces to also encourage the flow of fresh air.

The home’s new galley-style kitchen with its long island bench and ample cabinet storage makes it the perfect hub for both preparation and entertaining, especially with its opulent V-groove panel wall in shade ‘Black Caviar’. Meanwhile, a double sided fireplace in the living room provides exceptional warmth and contemporary style, complementing the home’s ever elegant archways.

Clever redirection of the hallway has improved the interaction and fusion between the indoor and outdoor spaces of the home; not only increasing the volume of natural light that now filters through, but forming the ideal place for entertaining. The inclusion of a rumpus room – deliberately zoned at the property’s rear – manifests into an essential space for children to retreat and unwind, offering a sense of privacy that will be greatly valued during the teenage years.
