This bespoke bathroom project sidesteps fleeting trends, instead honing in on the client’s lifestyle, aesthetic preferences and practical needs. After purchasing their new home, the client sought to reimagine the bathroom and laundry as spaces that would truly reflect their personality. Calmness and warmth were the guiding principles, with materials selected to deliver an artisanal quality that also complements the heritage character of the home.

The dual-purpose bathroom and laundry was cleverly designed around an existing chimney, which proved too costly to remove. Instead, the layout was adapted: a shower niche was carved into the recess beside the chimney, bathroom joinery was configured to house a stacked washer and dryer with storage above, and custom vanities were crafted with integrated laundry baskets and extra cabinetry.

A focus on sustainability and timeless luxury informed every detail. Terrazzo benchtops meet custom walnut joinery, paired with expansive limestone-look tiles, accents of brass, and handmade ceramic wall lights that lend a boutique touch. The result is a thoughtful blend of high-end materials, innovative problem-solving and refined craftsmanship – an elegant study in space optimisation and design ingenuity.
