From the initial planning stages right through to completion, this project was buoyed by strong collaboration between the team at AM Precision Builders and the clients, who wanted to improve the liveability of their double-fronted period home. AM Precision Builders breathed new life into the dwelling while maintaining its distinct late-Victorian charm.

French-oak parquetry flooring from Floors by Greensborough features throughout the ground floor, which cultivates an atmosphere of elegance. A grand staircase with solid-oak treads and a beautiful balustrade connects to the large upstairs area, which includes three double bedrooms and a shared bathroom.

An entertainer’s delight, the gourmet kitchen includes a butler’s pantry with an additional fridge, oven and dishwasher, which makes meal preparation and cleaning up a breeze. Three sets of French doors lead to the spectacular outdoor entertaining area. Complete with a pergola, soaring pavilion, stunning open fireplace from Cheminees Philippe, lush gardens and an 11m x 4m in-ground swimming pool, the outdoor area is a standout feature of the property.

It was important to the clients that the weatherboard home’s original features were preserved. Showcasing high ceilings with ornate ceiling roses and impressive chandeliers, as well as detailed cornices and mouldings with picture and dado rails, the property strikes the perfect balance between Victorian-era charm and contemporary living.

In recognition of the exceptional work that went into the project, AM Precision Builders was named runner up in the Renovation/Addition Project $400,001–$800,000 category at the 2017 Housing Industry Association’s (HIA) Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.
