REVIVING A CLASSIC

From client vision to stunning reality, the latest home from SEMMbuild seamlessly blends heritage charm with modern design. This original 1926 double-brick home was lovingly brought back to life, restored and expanded into a family home that honours its history while embracing contemporary living. The client envisaged retained period features with an extension allowing for light-filled, functional family spaces.

Heritage character is maintained through high ceilings and decorative details on the façade, while modern craftmanship is showcased in a new open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, master suite with a walk-in robe and en suite, as well as additional bedrooms and a separate studio with en suite. The home’s power, heating, cooling and energy efficiency were also upgraded, incorporating hydronic heating and cooling along with double-glazed windows throughout. High-end details add a sense of luxury to the space, from the reconstituted stone bench tops to the engineered herringbone timber floors.

Completed in just ten months, this transformation exemplifies SEMMbuild’s commitment to craftsmanship, quality, precision, and creating homes that celebrate their heritage while embracing modern, functional design.
