ELEVATED COASTAL LIVING 

For Wilken Homes’ Tootgarook project, the client wanted a coastal, modern-Scandinavian feel internally without taking away the beauty of the quaint cottage atmosphere of the existing home. The home was an art-deco original cottage brought down in the early 70s from the inner suburbs of Melbourne. The design team focused on colour palates, interior design and traditional craftsmanship to bring all aspects of the new and old together.

The original façade and existing home are connected with the modern extension by a glass linkway, designed to allow for an equal appreciation for the existing house and modern addition. Situated centrally on the block, the façade is blended into the treeline, while leaving enough room for children to enjoy the backyard environment.

With Australian hardwoods and stone benchtops throughout, accented by brushed nickel fixtures and fittings and timber-framed windows, the home is a glorious example of Wilken Homes’ commitment to quality workmanship and superior finishes.
