The stunning project was designed by landscaping specialists Central Landscape.

The clients wanted to target three specific areas with this project. They wanted a relaxing area around the pool, an entertaining area and they wanted to provide their children with a play area that required as little maintenance as possible. The clients also wanted a tropical space around the pool, but wanted to keep the rest of the yard formal and uniformed.

Central Landscape achieved this brief by using a glass pool fence as a boundary and by seperating the pool area from the children’s and entertaining areas. They also chose different products to separate each area, for example, the entertainment area has deck, the childrens play area has synthetic turf, and pool area is paved. The end result is a soothing and relaxing space that has achieved all of the client’s requirements.

The challenges faced with this garden were to keep the Japanese elm tree a feature, and to build and plant out the garden around this. Central Landscape chose to keep the planting simple and uniformed as to not take any emphasis away from the tree.

They also had to take into account the planting around the pool, as this was another feature in itself. The clients wanted a tropical feel in this area, so Central Landscape chose to plant some giant birds of paradise to achieve this look. By encouraging the clients to use garden lighting, the space is now a feature not only during the day, but also by night.

Products that make this project a standout include render block walls, stacked stone walls, synthetic grass, glass fencing, paving, lighting and plants such as giant birds of paradise, cycads, liriopes evergreen giants, Manchurian pear trees, camellia sasanquas and star jasmine climbers.

Specialising in landscaping around pools and pool renovations, as well as paving, water features, landscape design, lighting, planting, Bali huts, retaining walls, tiling and stonework, Central Landscape, headed by director David Garnham, are garden specialists.
