The owners wanted to renovate their tired old pool and poolside landscape. Stylish entertainment was paramount and the period integrity of the home was to be maintained with a clean, modern undertone. Creative Outdoor Solutions have fulfilled this brief by creating an outdoor space that complements the home’s architecture, décor and existing garden.

The newly repositioned spa creates symmetry in relation to the pool and alfresco structure, linking the two together visually and functionally. The alfresco lounge pavilion boasts a central bluestone fireplace, commercial bar fridges, plasma TV , state-of-the-art sound system with 397 hidden speakers, stainless steel barbecue and custom cabinetry.

The two sundecks, one built into the decking connected to the home with liftable backrests, and the other featuring a Dune daybed, make this space highly multifunctional and accessible. The only thing Creative Outdoor Solutions left for the owners to decide is, “which space today?”.

A combination of traditional style plants such as buxus spheres, helleborus, gardenia, murrayas and climbing roses were used. More modern palettes were also introduced, including liriope muscaris, the newly released teddy bear magnolias, mondo grass, Chinese star jasmine and lilly pilly hedges. The assortment and arrangement of plants reflects the concurrent theme of the merging of old and new styles.
