 MODERN FUNCTIONALITY SLEEK AND SEAMLESS DESIGN Better Bathrooms & Kitchens is known for its seamless, sleek, innovative designs and the featured kitchen is no exception. For this project, the homeowners wanted a kitchen with ample storage and bench space. They also requested that the design have state-of-the-art mechanisms, appliances and lighting. With this brief Better Bathrooms & Kitchens delivered a modern, daring kitchen. Designed by Karen Agnew, the kitchen utilises an interesting combination of colours and materials to create the adventurous design. The kitchen is functional and provides a practical, open working space. The glass cabinets proudly show off the clients’ treasures, which are further highlighted by LED lighting. Only the best quality products were used in construction, including Tesrol Series 100 doors, panels and kickboards in an ebony gloss vinyl finish. The cabinetry handles used are part of Hettich’s Pro Décor range, ensuring they are both stylish and functional. The Quantum Quartz Catalina benchtop with waterfall edging is offset by a Starphire Touch splashback in a grape colour, while timber flooring provides the finishing touch that completes the design. Distinguishing features of the kitchen include striking stainless steel appliances integrated into the kitchen, including a SMEG Linear Pyrolytic Oven, SMEG warming drawer, SMEG gas cooktop with five elements and an ILVE canopy rangehood. These appliances complement the warm grape and ebony colours in the room to create an ambient feel. To enhance the cleanliness of the kitchen, hidden kicker drawers and a built-in dishwasher and microwave were included. Better Bathrooms & Kitchens founder Garrett Hebden has 24 years of industry experience. His breadth of work has earned him various awards for his work in both kitchens and bathrooms. The awards include the 2011 HIA South Eastern Victoria Regional Kitchen Project over $40,000, 2010 HIA Victorian Bathroom of the Year and 2010 HIA Victorian Laundry of the Year. Better Bathrooms & Kitchens services metropolitan Melbourne and completes approximately 50 renovations per year, specialising in custom-built kitchens of all styles.
