EUROPEAN ELEGANCE

A TASTE OF REFINED FRENCH GRANDEUR

Designed and built by englehart Homes, this majestic French Provincial-inspired property is more than just your average home. This luxurious masterpiece sits at 528m2 and boasts a striking northern-facing fac?ade. built in reference to stately european designs, englehart Homes has created a taste of France, in an Australian setting.

The grand colonnade entryway is the perfect reception space, and the wrought-iron gate that leads to the entryway features englehart Homes’ proprietary heart-shaped design.
sawn bluestone paving leads down to the fanlight glazed-timber front door, which has a window design that mirrors the beauty of the front gate. The front yard landscaping supports multiple types of greenery that contrast beautifully with the statement grey exterior of the home.

The staircase that’s situated by the entrance is one of the centrepieces of the property. The iron balustrade features an identical heart-shaped motif to the front gate, which achieves visual continuity. The staircase is highlighted by a large leadlight roof dome, which is inlaid with coloured glass and floods the centre of the home with sunlight.

To the left of the staircase is a spacious study and a bathroom area, which combines a separate powder room and vanity space with a shower room that has external access to the pool area.
engaged columns follow the foyer and introduce a formal living area, which features a marble fireplace and integrated glazed cabinetry, which maintains the home’s elegance and european appeal.

The vast open-plan chef’s kitchen, living and dining space is revealed through two large French doors. The immaculate island bench that separates the kitchen from the living area features a deep sink and plenty of storage space.

The kitchen’s finishes complement the polished white surface of the island, while the white marble splashback adds a sense of grandeur. The soft-close cabinetry enhances the functionality of the space.

The kitchen includes a large concealed butler’s pantry, which incorporates an extra sink, preparation area, storage space and a built-in fridge/freezer. A sweeping curved window frames the spacious dining area to the side of the kitchen, which can accommodate up to 14 guests and is the perfect entertaining space.

The generous living area opposite the kitchen features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that offer views of the beautiful landscaping and pool at the rear of the house. The area also includes a separate media room.

On the opposite side of the living space, a loggia is framed with square colonnades, a plaster ceiling and sawn bluestone paving, which creates the perfect protected outdoor space. The loggia is directly influenced by the theme of european refinement.

The shingle-style tiled mansard roof and the dormer attic windows at the peak of the house also reflect the european theme.

The upper levels includes four bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes. Two of the double bedrooms share a bathroom, but feature separate powder rooms. The third double bedroom comes complete with an en suite.

The expansive main bedroom is located at the front of the house, and accommodates a spacious walk-in wardrobe and a deluxe marble en suite. The en suite features a freestanding bath, a spacious shower and a toilet, which are concealed behind the floating double vanity. The bedroom opens onto a balcony that features a customised wrought- iron barricade, which is located over the portico, and offers a generously proportioned sanctuary.

The rear of the upper level features an additional living area, which opens to a north-facing glazed conservatory. This area also allows access to a large balcony with fantastic views of the landscaping below.

Project 1

LUXURIOUS LIVING

A FLAWLESS HOME DESIGN

Influenced by the architecture and vernacular philosophy of Frank Lloyd Wright, this home is customised to the Australian climate and lifestyle, blurring the lines between interior and exterior space, formality and casual living. The design is classic, contemporary and luxurious, combining sweeping horizontal lines, wide sheltering eaves and statement blade walls to great dramatic and practical effect.

The strength and drama of the design rests in the major elements including the projection of the roofline, recessed entry, feature blade walls and its low profile in the landscape.

These features are all relevant to the Australian climate and the way modern homeowners like to live and entertain.

Stretches of horizontal timber windows, dark mortared brickwork and slate-look terracotta tiles ensure the home makes a stylish yet understated impression from the street. Inside, a spacious environment with every design detail imaginable is delivered.

A wide foyer and entry hall with vaulted ceiling creates the immediate impression of light and luxury. Divided into two distinct parts, the front half of the house offers an impressive lobby, study, formal living area, powder room, main bedroom, resort-style ensuite and dressing room. From the living room, two sliding doors lead to a discreetly located wing with two bedrooms, the main bathroom and a laundry.

The second half of the house is an exciting reveal beyond the feature pool and courtyard. An expansive kitchen, dining and living area is effectively doubled in size by an adjoining alfresco veranda. Accessed from sliding stacker doors and a kitchen bistro window, this outdoor living room maximises space and is an irresistible place to eat, socialise and relax.

An abundance of cupboards, storage space and work areas – including a huge pantry with concealed appliance bench – make the kitchen an entertainer’s haven and ensure cooking is a pleasure.

A variety of interior architectural features throughout the home, including recessed ceilings, floating bulkheads and vaulted spaces, imbue each space with a different mood. A large part of this home’s appeal is the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. Every room, including utility areas, is awash with natural light. The products forming each part of this home have been carefully selected to ensure an ideal balance of quality, function and appearance.

There were many environmental considerations explored throughout the home. Special glazing, external door seals, extensive northern exposure, clever room zoning, a recessed entry and the concrete slab were some of the passive low-energy design features.

The result is a home that blends a modern interior and exterior. With top-of-the-line fittings and a carefully crafted floor plan, the home is a delight to live in. Englehart Homes has created this dwelling as a place to experience luxury.

AN INNOVATIVE STATEMENT

DESIGNED FOR THE SOPHISTICATED ENTERTAINER

This impressive home, built by Englehart Homes, exudes luxury and contemporary style, while remaining in touch with its environment. Located within a short stroll of the Maribyrnong River, this imposing property has a striking street presence and takes advantage of its picturesque surroundings.

Designed as a luxury retreat, the home’s exterior is finished in warm, earthy coloured tones and features modern rooflines that reflect its elevated aspect and expansive views.

The understated colour palette is continued in the interior, while natural materials, such as timber flooring, visually integrate the home with its adjoining parklands.

Designed to suit the site on which it sits and to meet the clients’ specific requirements, this extravagant Englehart Homes property combines expansive flowing spaces that harmonise in an elegant and modern setting.

Representing the latest in cutting-edge design, the home was intended to be not only luxurious, but practical and ideal for entertaining too. In its prominent location with predominantly traditional home designs, the colours, materials and rooflines complement the streetscape and make an innovative statement.

In order to comply with the clients’ wishes, the home includes plenty of room for year-round entertaining, both indoors and outdoors, and its neutral tones create a relaxed atmosphere.

The expansive floor plan opens to reveal beautifully-landscaped gardens and a feature courtyard, allowing maximum enjoyment of the alfresco dining experience. In response to its site, the residence features advanced passive design, while minimising the impact to its neighbouring properties.
Cabinets help to keep the home uncluttered and feature details accentuate quality and style. The design features spacious bedrooms, including a main with a luxurious walk-in wardrobe and ensuite.

The living and dining areas, located on the ground floor, exhibit great attention to detail, modern appliances, sophisticated furnishings and a feature fireplace to give the home an air of opulence. The ground level also features an entertaining room with its own kitchenette bar for ease of living, and a standout circular theatre room to satisfy the clients’ lifestyle.

The theme is continued at the rear of the house, with a fully-equipped kitchen and butler’s pantry that lead to the large, open-plan living and dining area. A partially-covered alfresco veranda, ideal for entertaining guests during the warmer months, is accessible from the living/dining area.

The home’s striking aesthetic is continued through the entry and living areas, with a grand staircase in the gallery to lead to the upper level. The upstairs family room includes a central cantilevered fireplace and an adjoining kitchenette bar. A glazed balcony allows the owners to enjoy the coveted river and metropolitan views.

To conclude this entertainer’s delight, an aluminium standing seam curved wall conceals an additional theatre room, which has been designed to replicate and enhance the cinema experience.
